Pokémon Cafe With Kids and Babies: Party Size, Strollers and Ordering Rules
Pokémon Cafe welcomes families, but a few rules catch parents out, starting with how a baby counts on the booking. Here's what to know before you reserve, based on the official FAQ as of November 2026.
Last checked against the official site: 16 October 2026

Babies and children count in your party size
Every child counts toward the reservation, from age 0. A baby who will sit on your lap or stay in your arms still needs to be included in the number of guests.
The party size can't be changed after the booking is complete, so include everyone before you confirm. One booking covers up to six people, babies included.
Choosing a seat type for your family
Because a baby counts as a guest, the seat types open to you can change. Two adults and a baby are a party of 3, for example, which rules out Tokyo B seats.
- One adult and a baby (2 guests): any seat type at either branch.
- Two adults and a baby (3 guests): Tokyo A or C seats; any seat type in Osaka.
- Two adults, two children and a baby (5 guests): Tokyo C seats only; any seat type in Osaka.
You can choose the seat type but not a specific table.
Who has to order, and food allergies
Every guest aged 6 or over needs to order at least one menu item. The rule doesn't apply to younger children, though they still count toward the party size.
If your child has a food allergy, check before you go. The cafe can't change a menu item or remove an allergen, and it doesn't take individual requests to remove, swap or serve ingredients separately. The official FAQ links to an allergy chart.
Strollers, baby chairs and baby food
- Strollers: tell the staff when you arrive, and they'll keep the stroller in a designated place.
- Baby chairs and baby cutlery: both are available on request, in limited numbers, so they may not always be free.
- Baby food: you can bring it, but for hygiene reasons only sealed, shop-bought baby food is allowed. Let the staff know when you arrive.
Planning the visit around little ones
Your table is yours for 90 minutes, with last orders 30 minutes before the end, and arriving late doesn't extend the time. If you're 10 minutes late without contacting the cafe, the reservation is cancelled automatically, so leave extra time if you're travelling with a stroller.
Aim to arrive 15 minutes early in Tokyo (10 minutes for the first A-seat slot at 10:40) or 10 minutes early in Osaka. If a child falls ill, you can cancel online until 22:00 Japan time the night before. On the day itself, call the branch directly.
